Use these free gift box templates to make many different kinds of small boxes.
This is an excellent way to recycle all those Christmas or birthday cards that are taking so much space in your home.
If you don’t have many used greeting cards, or you need to make a lot of small gift boxes and bags, consider buying greeting cards specifically for this purpose.
I like to buy boxes of variety Christmas or greeting cards because I like to be able to make a variety of different looking gift packages.

However, if you are needing your gift containers to all look alike, you can buy the sets where the cards are all the same.
If you are making these gift holders for a business, you may like them to coordinate with the colors on your business card.
Here’s a great idea from Dianne Culbertson-Jacques of Divella Delights, for someone who sells their crafted items at a craft fair or art show, to encourage their customers to shop.
“I am going to make those triangle boxes and hang them on the tree with trinkets inside for my (female) party guests this year! You could even have one at your booth for people to pick out if their purchase is over a certain amount. A few dollars to make a pair of earrings, slip them (and a business card) in a box and tie it on the tree. They get a free surprise with their over $50.00 purchase and you have handed out another business card and made an impression on another customer!”
I found these lovely notecards in the dollar store. There were 8 cards and 8 envelopes in each set – enough to make 8 gift boxes and 8 gift bags. That is 16 small gift holders for $1.00!
Target dollar spot often has sets of 8 note cards also. I found these heart note cards for $1.00 before Valentine’s Day, but they can be used for gifting any time of the year.
Before and after the holidays you can find boxes of discounted cards, and you can use percent off coupons for them in craft stores.
You can find envelope gift bags to use with the envelopes here.
Use these free gift box templates for making lovely and unusual small gift boxes with greeting cards.

Just found your site when I was searching for a box template. My Etsy shop (AuraVerde) has jewelry that has beads made from recycled materials. I was looking for a way to package my jewelry for shipment that would keep with the recycle/upcycle them. Thanks for the tutorial!

These christmas card gift boxes are completely amazing. Love the ‘upcycle’ nature of it too. Wondering if I could feature on my blog late Dec (after 25th) as a fantastic option of what you can do with christmas cards? I would link back of course and would love permission to use your photos. Please let me know.

Hi Barb, I’m glad you liked the card boxes. Your feature would help spread the word that cards can be recycled in neat ways – they don’t have to be tossed! Thanks.

I love the idea of re-purposing cards. I don’t see the templates, but hopefully can figure it out. Thanks for clever ideas.

As you scroll down the page you will find links to each different kind of box. When you go to that page you will find instructions on how to make the box. There aren’t printable templates because cards come in different sizes.
