Sparkly Heart Button Covers

By Noreen 41 Comments

By Noreen Doll.

For a fun way to glitz up your outfit, try these sparkly heart button covers.

Sparkly Heart Button Covers - Crafty Journal

They are quick and easy, and add some glamour, too.

Get a package of glitter hearts from the Dollar Store, or make your own with glitter craft foam.

Glitter Hearts Table Scatter

Craft Knife

How to Make Sparkly Heart Button Covers.

1. From a package of hearts table scatter, choose a heart that is at least 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch.

Or make your own hearts from craft foam.

2. Using a craft knife or other sharp knife, make a slit in the center of the heart from top to bottom.

Sparkly Heart Button Covers - Crafty Journal

This slit needs to be large enough to allow your button to slip through.

Try not to get the ends of the slit too close to the edge of the heart.

I make a small slit and then use scissors to lengthen the slit at each end, a little at a time, until the slit is long enough for the button.

3. Slip the heart over the button of a buttoned blouse / shirt.

Make a sparkly row of hearts down the front of your blouse.

Brush off any glitter bits that fall on the shirt.

Adults need to supervise if kids are using a craft knife.
