There are many ways to add beautiful or unusual gift decorations to your packages.
Bows of all kinds and sizes can be made with ribbon. The wider the ribbon, the larger your bow will be.
Bows can be made out of almost anything. Paper bows can be made with newspaper, old maps, magazine or old book pages, catalog pages, telephone book pages, wrapping paper strips, fabric strips, and even strips from aluminum cans.
Packages can be tied with ribbon, or done the old fashioned way with string, twine, or jute. These look very vintage on a gift wrapped in brown kraft paper.
Other unusual package ties could be strips of colorful paper or fabric, yarn, rubber bands,or even a necktie.
Instead of a bow, you can tie on another small gift, such as a lollipop or candy bar, a small toy for a child, a pair of mittens, or other smallish item.
At Christmas nice ideas to add as gift decorations are Christmas tree decorations. There are lots of easy ones to make or you can buy them.
I’ve seen a child’s package wrapped in the colored comic section of the newspaper and tied with a jump rope. Very cute and clever, and fun for a child to receive. Colorful shoelaces would add a fun look.
Or you can finish your gift with a sleek satin or soft velvet ribbon and a beautiful flower.
Other ideas for the top of a gift are flowers, toys, candies, decorated cookies, hair accessories, jewelry, craft items (for a crafty person), pompoms, stars, seashells, pine cones or other seed pods, nuts or leaves, snowflakes, or snowmen.
Consider some of these great ideas for gift decorations to adorn your next gift package, and have fun wrapping it.
