How do you keep rings safe when you’re working in the kitchen?
Lots of people keep a small dish on the window sill or counter to hold their rings.
However, it can be very easy to bump this dish and knock the rings into the sink – and sometimes down the disposal or drain.
Here’s a clever idea for keeping your rings safe when you need to remove them for a kitchen chore.
Screw a cup hook inside one of your kitchen cabinets.
The hook holds your rings more securely, and you can close the cabinet door until you are ready to put your rings on again.
And you’ll always know where to find your rings.
It would also be a handy holder for a watch or bracelet.

Super idea, how many times have I lost my rings down drain? Really smart idea, thanks for sharing.
I don’t wear any rings any more unless I’m going somewhere. I learned hard way too many times, have a specific place I keep rings in jewelry box on top of dresser or I forget where I put them. It’s called getting older and forgetful. When I’m painting a project I tend to be messy, I seem to like to share paint on me with whatever I’m painting, lol.
We’re just now finishing up painting l/r and I’ve got paint in my hair on arms, hands, legs, oh me. At least we’re using gray paint, maybe it’ll match my hair. Happy days

I have paint on my hands even while I’m reading your comment! Whenever I do anything, I use both hands and both feet. lol

Great minds!! I did a post similar to this.
It’s a great “ring” saver isn’t it?
Thanks for sharing!

Couldn’t be simpler. couldn’t be better! What a genius idea – why on earth didn’t I think of that?

Great idea! I always take my rings off in the kitchen, and this would keep them from getting lost!!

Wish I’d tried this two years ago. While making pie crust, I slipped my ring in my back pocket. Accidentally flushed it during a bathroom break. 🙁

Ouch!

Another great tip! I don’t wear my rings right now, pregnancy weight gain has caused them to not fit…5 years ago. ugh! And I refuse to have them re-sized! But as soon as I lose weight and fit back into my rings, I’ll be using this tip for sure!

Great idea! I might use a small command hook instead so I don’t have to put a hole in my cabinet. 🙂

Whenever my left hand ends up in cooking pictures, I always laugh because I am rarely wearing my wedding ring. I’m always taking it off to wash dishes or knead dough or anything messy.
I keep a small ring box which closes. This seems to work fine, but there’s always the danger of the entire box falling into the sink. A hook is a good idea.
Did you paint it so it won’t wear on your ring?
Noreen says
I didn’t paint the hook – they come in a few colors.

This is a great idea, my parents always take their rings and watches off for dishes and cooking and I can’t think of the number of times they’ve almost lost them down the drain or in the garbage. Will be showing them this the next time I see them.
