Have you ever tried to trace around a paper template? The edges are so flimsy your pencil slides under or over, and makes a mess.
Here’s an easy way to print a sturdier template.
Cut a manilla folder in half, and then cut one side to 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches, so it will fit through your printer.
Lay the cut manilla folder page on top of the paper in your printer.
Find the template you want to print, and when you press “print”, the template will be printed on the manilla folder.
Cut the template out.
The edges of this template are firmer than paper and easier to trace around.
If you are going to use this template a lot, trace it onto cereal cardboard or other sturdy cardboard or milk jug plastic.

This is so clever! I’ll be looking for the pretty boxes of pasta with beautiful vistas of Italy to use.

This is a great upcycling idea for a folder no longer serving its original purpose or an used food box. Thanks for the tip.

This is a great idea – especially for my pre-schooler. It’s pretty much impossible for him to cut around a regular piece of printer paper!
Thanks for sharing at Waste Not Want Not Wednesday!

Great idea. I have a couple of uses in mind. Luckily I have plenty of manila folders.

That’s ingenious! I have bought card stock in the past but tons of old manila folders laying around, that would work awesomely. Thanks for linking up to Snickerdoodle Sunday.
