Homemade teacher gifts are a wonderful way of thanking a teacher.
Teachers work hard, usually longer hours than what children spend in a classroom.
They frequently go out of their way to help a child who needs extra help.
They often dig into their own pockets to purchase necessities for the classroom.
Presenting homemade teacher gifts to your child’s teacher is a great way of letting him/her know how much you value what he/she does for your child.
There are several occasions during the school year that your child can present his teacher with a heartfelt gift. And it will mean more to your child if she has a part in creating the gift.
Many of these gift ideas can be easily adapted to the holiday, or made more personal for the recipient. You really don’t need an occasion to let a teacher know he/she is appreciated.
Use different holiday papers or embellishments, or personalize your gift with the teacher’s name or initials.
Whatever you decide to give to your child’s teacher, he or she will greatly appreciate knowing how much he/she is valued.
And one thing I have heard from teachers: Please! No more apple gifts!
Adding a heartfelt message to your gift is what will really make your teacher feel appreciated.
Look for other great ideas in gifts for women or gifts for men that would be also be suitable. And creative ideas for wrapping gift cards can be found here.

As a teacher, I always like homemade gifts. Especially when the parents really get to know me during the year and figure out my likes and dislikes. Great ideas here.
