People are realizing more and more that we can’t keep trashing the earth’s system by creating so much garbage.
One way we can minimize our trash is by wrapping gifts in reusable cloth instead of paper.
Gift bags are very easy to stitch, and you don’t even have to stitch the top, you can just tie ribbon or string around it.
However, if you have no sewing skills or are just not interested in sewing gift bags, here are some ideas for wrapping gifts Japanese style.
You can look for colorful seasonal fabric in the fabric stores – on sale for 50% or more off after the holidays.
Or you can use sheets, tablecloths, blankets, towels, bandanas, scarves, or cut large squares out of clothing that can no longer be worn.
You could look in a second hand store for used items of the above, and wash them and cut them into smaller sizes if necessary.
