This easy cheap dinosaur matching game for toddler fun can be quickly put together.
Kids can easily make it for younger siblings or friends. In addition to matching, toddlers can learn colors and begin learning some of the dinosaur names.
Find craft foam sheet packs and 100 packs of foam stickers at the dollar store for $1.
These would make great party favors for a toddlers birthday party.
What you need
Craft Foam Sheets
Craft Foam Stickers
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil
What you do
1. Using 1 sheet of craft foam, mark as many 2 inch squares as you can.
You should be able to get 20 squares from an 8 inch x 10 inch sheet. (Or 24 squares from an 8 x 12 sheet.)
2. Cut out all the squares.
3. Sort the foam shapes and make 10 pairs of matching shapes and colors.
Be sure each shape will fit on the 2 inch square.
4. Attach each sticker to a square. Press firmly around the edges of the shape.
How to Play Dinosaur Matching Game for Toddler
For the youngest children, just lay the pieces out face up and let the child find matching pairs.
For older children, lay all the squares face down and take turns turning up 2 squares to try to match them.
If the squares match, you keep them and take another turn.
If they don’t match, turn them face down and the next player has a turn.
Whoever has the most squares at the end of the game, wins.
Store the pieces in a sandwich size ziplock bag.
Because it’s light and compact, a dinosaur matching game for toddler would make a great travel game to take along.
Other easy to make and take games are Dominoes and Travel Tic Tac Toe.

Love this idea! Great for a bad weather day, and could also get the kids to stick the shapes/animals/dinosaurs down on the cards too before playing the game – keep them busy for longer! #TurnItUpTuesday
