Little Boys Toy Weapons

By Noreen Leave a Comment

Make little boys toy weapons that are fun to play with and won’t hurt too much if the kids are accidentally hit.

No matter how hard you try, you can’t keep little boys from using guns and swords.

If they don’t have toy ones, they use sticks or other items and pretend they’re guns and swords.

Here are some really clever ideas for making toy weapons for little boys that are relatively safe. At least if they get bonked, it won’t hurt quite so much!

I guarantee your little boys, and maybe your little girls, will love these little boys toy weapons!

Of course, children should always be supervised when they are using these toys to prevent harm or accidents, and taught to use them safely. Teach them to wear safety goggles when playing with toys that shoot parts.

Safety Goggles

Use a 2 liter soda bottle to make safety googles.

Attach duct tape around the sharp edges to avoid scratches. Kids can use Sharpies to make them more fun.

Little Boys Toy Weapons – Swords and Boffers

Boffer Weapons

Knights use boffer weapons, and these are made with PVC pipe, foam insulation and duct tape.

Boffer Weapons & Safe Swords

Kids can make their own boffer weapons and safe swords with PVC pipe and a pool noodle. Slip the PVC pipe into the pool noodle and wrap with duct tape. Quick, easy and fun!

Guide to Boffers

This has a detailed tutorial for making generic boffers.

Blue Sword Construction

PVC pipe, insulation and duct tape are used in this version of a blue sword construction.

Duct Tape Sword

Design the shape of your own blade when you make this duct tape sword with a sleeping pad, duct tape, contact glue and a foam tube.

Sword/Dagger

Craft a sword or dagger with felt and stiff interfacing. A layer of glue in the middle will help make it stiffer, too. Add “jewels” to embellish it.

Buccaneer Sword

Use cardboard (glue 2 layers together with white glue to make it sturdier) and duct tape or electrical tape to make a fun buccaneer sword.

Little Boys Toy Weapons – Guns

Five Plastic Dart Gun Targets

To give the kids something to shoot at besides each other, try making these five plastic dart gun targets. Print the targets and use bent wire or toilet paper tubes to make them stand. Or use a small plastic water bottle in place of the paper tubes.

Gun Holster

Draw around your gun to make a felt gun holster. Cut 2 layers each of the front and back, and bond them together with interfacing between layers to make the holster sturdier.

Easy $5 Water Guns

Create easy $5 water guns with PVC pipe and washers, and have the fun of making your own.

Ultimate Squirt Gun – WATERZOOKA!

For the ultimate squirt gun – the Waterzooka, you will need PVC pipe, PVC caps and seals. This cannon shoots water up to 50 feet!

Miniature Marshmallow Gun

Use PVC pipe and connectors to make this miniature marshmallow gun that shoots marshmallows quite a distance.

Popgun

Craft a fun popgun with PVC pipe, a wood dowel, and a cork or styrofoam plug.

More Little Boys Toy Weapons

Lightsaber

Create this lightsaber that lights, with more materials, plus a battery pack and LEDs. It could be a fun challenge, but they are pretty easy to find and buy.

Indiana Jones Bullwhip

Braid brown duct tape to make an Indiana Jones bullwhip, and use a small piece of PVC pipe for the handle.

Duct Tape Whip

Make a duct tape whip by braiding duct tape, and add a small stick for the handle.
