The other day I needed a way to carry a bowl of hot food a short distance.
Since I don’t have a wide mouth thermos, I came up with this quick and easy idea for transporting a bowl of hot food.
First I put the food in a microwave safe bowl and heated it until it was very hot.
While the food was heating, I prepared the container I would carry it in.
I found a plastic storage bowl with a lid.
I warmed 2 pot holders in the microwave after I removed the bowl of food. I just laid them on the bottom of the microwave to soak up the heat left from warming the food.
I put one potholder in the bottom of the plastic storage bowl.
Then I set an empty styrofoam bowl on the potholder, and added the hot food to the bowl.
Next I turned an empty styrofoam bowl upside down over the bowl of food.
I laid another potholder on top of the upside down styrofoam bowl.
Then I added a spoon and put on the lid.
In the car I put the bowl into a fleece jacket nest to help retain the warmth.
When I delivered the food, it was still very warm, and my inspiration was a success!
